Adjust Outlook Outbound Message Encoding
Overview A small subset of users have reported that external recipients are receiving strange characters in messages from Swinerton. It is believed that the outbound message encoding setting in Outlook may be to blame. However, due to the limited number of impacted users, it is advised to manually adjust this setting on a per-user basis, as needed. Process 1. From within Outlook, click File then Options 2. Click Advanced then scroll down to ‘International Options’ 3. Check the box for “Automatically select encoding for outgoing messages” and set the ‘Preferred encoding for outgoing messages’ to Unicode (UTF-8) 4. Click Ok and restart Outlook

How to Edit O365 Groups
Overview With the move to Office 365 Online we are also migrating distribution lists into “Office 365 Groups” – The groups function much like a classic distribution list but with many more features. One of the new features is managing the group directly from Outlook. Follow the below steps to manage an existing Office 365 Group. IMPORTANT: You must be an Owner of the group to make changes Process 1. From within Outlook, find and expand ‘Groups’ (located on the left side below all the inbox folders) 2. Find and click on the group you’d like to manage (in this example I'm using a "Test Sandbox" group) 3. Once the group is selected you’ll see a ‘Group Settings’ button at the top of Outlook 4. Select it then click ‘Edit Group’ to open the editor window 5. From here you can manage the group – you can add/remove owner status, add/remove members, change groups settings, and even delete the group (so be careful!) 6. Once you’re finished making changes click ‘Ok’ to save them

Microsoft Edge Displays Outlook In The Sidebar
Created by Peter Dederko 2024 01 25 Objective Microsoft has enabled a new feature in Microsoft Edge where it will display Microsoft Outlook in the right pane of the browser. According to Microsoft, this allows you to easily access, read, and reply to your Outlook email. This only works if Microsoft Edge is set as your default browser in Outlook, and if Automatically open Outlook email context in the side pane, toggle, is enabled. How to stop email from auto-opening in Microsoft Edge? Open Microsoft Edge Select the Gear icon at the bottom right of the sidebar. Under App and notification settings, select Outlook. Turn off the Automatically open Outlook email context in the side pane, toggle. Outlook will no longer appear in the right-pane of Microsoft Edge. Can I enable/disable this feature when I want? Yes, you can enable/disable Outlook displaying in the right pane as you wish. Open Microsoft Edge Select the Outlook icon from the upper-right sidebar to add, or remove, Outlook.
