How to Recycle Mobile Devices
To recycle mobile devices employees may use the recycling method of their choosing or those their office/division managers recommend. Swinerton BTech recommends the following: Firefly IT Asset Recovery, Inc. Diana Flippin dianaf@fireflyitrecovery.com 949.433.1200 Email Diana and she will reply with a UPS shipping label, which you will place on a box containing your device(s) and send out. Email Diana the following information: Payment Option 1 - Check payable to Swinerton Name Check payable to: Swinerton Contact: Your Information Address: Your Information City, State & Zip: Your Information Phone: Your Information Email address to send correspondence: Your Information Email address to send the UPS Label (if different): Your Information # of boxes you will ship via UPS to Firefly: Number of boxes you are sending When you receive your check, you may deposit it crediting your cell phone code. To get the most money back, your devices must be properly reset, see details below. If your devices are locked you can still send them for recycling, but you will not get paid for them. To ensure full payment for your company's used wireless equipment, all phones must come with a battery and be able to power up. Also, the device(s) need to be fully functional, in average / good cosmetic condition and all Device Management Software MUST be removed prior to shipping to Firefly (typically only Foreman/field devices have device management software). Phones turned in to Firefly must be owned free and clear and not have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) Balance Due to the Carrier, otherwise they are considered non-payable if the MEID/ESN is tied to an account. Device Management Software or Apple DEP MUST be removed prior to shipping and for iPhones and iPads the Find my iPhone or iCloud Locked needs to be removed and for Android devices the Google Lock needs to be removed. For “Poor/ Cracked Screen” condition devices for higher end phones or tablets we try to pay up to 25% of the listed buyback amount, but until tested it can’t be determined. As an FYI cracked screens can affect the operating system, keypad, digitizer, functionality of the camera etc. so until we test it, we can’t guarantee the amount. If the equipment is tested and graded as “recycle only” or “non-payable” after testing has been completed, the devices will be recycled accordingly in a green manner. Non-payable equipment can be returned at your expense within 5 business days from the date in which the devices complete testing. If we pay a portion of the value then we will keep the device and pay the portion, you cannot get the device back. For iPhone/ iPad device(s) please turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Apple devices operating IOS7 or newer, the “Find My iPhone” iCloud Lock must be turned off prior to sending them in to Firefly, failure to do so will result in a trade value of $0, recycle only. Settings > General > Reset > “Erase All Content and Settings” https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351 For Android Device(s) Please Remove Factory Reset Protection (FRP) Feature/ Google Lock: Android devices the “Google Lock” must be turned off prior to sending them in to Firefly, failure to do so will result in a trade value of $0, recycle only. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/frp/ Phones & Tablets turned in to Firefly must be owned free and clear and not have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) Balance Due to the Carrier, otherwise they are considered non-payable if the MEID/ESN is tied to an account. If the devices are enrolled in the Apple DEP Program, the client needs to remove each device prior to shipping them to Firefly.
