How To: Adding Project Components
Project Components refer to the individual, distinct, and functional elements or units that contribute to the entire project. You can think of it as building blocks of the project and can be categorized in different ways depending on the type of construction, the building's function, and the level of detail required. Please download the spreadsheet attached below for a master list of component values.
How do you add a component?
- Navigate to the Project's Component tab.
- Click on Quick Add or Add Project Component.
- Quick Add - this feature allows you to search for relevant components under a specific category/grouping (e.g., mass timber components)
- Add Project Component - type in key words to quickly search for the components
- Once you've selected the Component, please add any additional relevant details.
- Size (e.g., 50,000)
- Size Label (e.g., SF, Units, Levels, etc)
- Component Cost ($500,000)
- Comments (for clarification purposes)
- After you've added all the Components, you may now easily search for these features in Power BI. Check out the Power BI Project Category Search Report here.
