Introduction to OneNote

OneNote is a digital note-taking software that is part of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications. Because OneNote is part of Microsoft 365 apps, it means that it is offered to all Swinerton employees as a standard software. OneNote can be installed as a desktop application or utilized via web access through SwinNet.
Why use OneNote
OneNote offers a variety of benefits, but the main one being accessibility. OneNote can be accessed via multiple means, like previously mentioned, there is the typical desktop application and web access, but there is also the benefit of portability by installation of the mobile application.

Examples for OneNote
Creating a Notebook:
- Select File
- Select New > This PC > Enter desired name in Notebook Name field.
Making Page in a Notebook:
- By default a untitled page will be generated when you create a new Notebook.
- You can change the page name by adding the desired name in the page as the title.
Creating additional pages is simple
- Shortcut keys=CTRL+N
- Right-click in page area (New Page box will appear)
- Select Add Page option
Sharing a Notebook:
- Identify the Notebook you desire to share
- Multiple methods of sharing
- Share selection in OneNote
- Input name, group, or email address (box 1)
- Change permissions of shared member (box 2)
- Select Send when ready (box 3)
These are basic examples of what can be done in OneNote. There are a variety of other useful tools and resources that can be utilized in OneNote, such as templates, tags, and multimedia note taking.
