User Principal Name (UPN) must match with User Logon Email
User Principal Name (UPN) must match with User Logon Email
To maintain consistency across systems, it is important to align the email setup in CMiC and WorkDay with the Active Directory (AD) primary email address. The User Principal Name (UPN) should always match the primary email address in AD.
For example, If users samAccountName or AD account is tkretzschm then their Primary Email Address must be setup as tkretzschm@swinerton.com tkretzschm@swinerton.com will be UPN in this case. This account potentially can have additional email alias associated with their primary email, however only primary email must be used in all downstream applications (CMiC, Workday, Workmax, Certify) etc
Here are the guidelines to follow:
- Active Directory (AD):
The User logon name/ Users AD account (samaccount name) + the domain that user belongs to must with user principal name and Primary Email in AD. (they can have alias if needed but alias can only be used while sending email communications).
2. CMiC: User maintenance
User maintenance in CMiC should have the same email setup as the primary AD email. They use users primary email as their SSO and the same will have to be setup in CMiC user maintenance.

3. WorkDay:
The Workday account should also use the same work email as the primary AD email. This integrates from Active directory automatically.
Note: Both the UPN(User Principal Name) and logon primary email should always match. As long those matches then respective user should be able to see their own Jobstart notifications.
