Export a Process Model as an Image

While Camunda Modeler saves process models as BPMN XML files (*.bpmn), not everyone you want to share a process model with will have Camunda Modeler to open BPMN XML files. Therefore, you may want to export your process model into a format that others can view more easily.

  1. Launch Camunda Modeler.
  2. Open the BPMN process model you wish to export or create a new one.
  3. Select File » Export as Image from the menu bar.
  4. In the Export Diagram dialog box, choose the desired format for the exported image. Camunda Modeler supports PNG, JPG, and SVG image formats.
  5. Enter a suitable name for the exported file.
  6. Select the location on your computer where you want to save the exported image.
  7. Select the Save button to export your process model.
  8. If you want to save your process model as a PDF, open the exported image file (PNG or JPG) in a PDF editor (e.g. Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu, PDF X-Change Editor) and save it as a PDF.
