Clear Google Chrome Cache and Temporary Internet Files (cookies, browser history, form data, and / or passwords)

What are Temporary Internet Files?

Temporary Internet Files (e.g. graphics, Web pages, cookies, etc...) are stored on your computer’s hard disk and cached on your computer to speed up web-surfing. However, over time these temporary internet files can occupy more hard disk space and slow down your computer, along with presenting outdated web page info. By default, Windows does not clear these Temporary Internet Files automatically, so it is recommended that you clear them periodically.

To Clear Temporary Internet Files in Google Chrome:

1. Quit all open instances of Google Chrome and open a new session.

2. Click the Settings button (3 dots at right of toolbar).

3. Select More tools > Clear browsing data.. (shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Delete)

4. In the "Clear browsing data" menu, make sure that the Time Range is All time, and at least Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files are selected, and optionally select history or other options, then press Clear data.

5. The menu will close when all data has been cleared.

6. Click the Settings button again and select Exit, then open a new session of Google Chrome.
